What's Really Wrong

As the Right Wing goes apeshit with criticisms that have no bearing whatsoever on the reality of the president, this does a far greater disservice. We need reliable critique of the president, the government, the powers that be. Without it, we only have powers, and a people showing themselves to be so damned childish that they must remain parented. All the Right is proving is that we do need bigger government to keep their insane asses in line.

I'm glad that Obama won, so as to really put these people in their place, but that doesn't mean I agree with Obama on everything. You won't find the kind of criticism that needs to happen from these people, because where Obama is going wrong, they only want more of it. Fortunately, I have one small breath of fresh air from the Stimulator at in this edition of It's the End of the World as we Know It and I Feel Fine, titled: Oh Bummer:

This edition features Derrick Jensen, his second appearance on ITEOTWAWKIAIFF, who is making a film with Stimmy called End: Civ, which despite my very disagreeable run-in with Jensen, I am looking forward to greatly. He talks about his new book which tackles the other end of civilization's unsustainability from the other end: uncontrolled waste. And while he quotes Red Cloud (I think he said), I have three more Indian quotes to add on top of that, all from Chief Seattle of the Suqwamish and Duwamish tribes:

If all the beasts were gone, men would die from great loneliness of spirit, for whatever happens to the beasts also happens to man. All things are connected. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the children of the earth.

Like a man who has been dying for many days, a man in your city is numb to the stench.

Continue to contaminate your own bed, and you will one night suffocate in your own waste.

So while you're being told by morons that the president wants to put old people to death, you can rest assured that the real problem is that all of our world leaders are helping put us all in the grave. But the Right Wing actually want to increase this, so you know they won't mention it. Ever.
