Nobody really answered the question: Was Raiders of the Lost Ark ruined for you by Amy Farah Fowler the other night? If you missed Big Bang Theory, here's how it went down, without any really big spoilers: It’s BBT‘s “Revenge of the Nerd” episode. Sheldon promises to take Amy's virginity, but by that he means exposing her for the first time to the love child of Spielberg & Lucas: Raiders of the Lost Ark. And she enjoys it, as he was hoping... despite it's glaring plot hole. He asks her what she could possibly mean, saying, "Here's my jaw. Drop it." She does exactly that. In fact, she did it to me too: Farrah Fowler ruins Raiders of the Lost Ark by pointing out that Indiana Jones was not needed in the movie. In effect, he accomplished absolutely nothing in the film. The Nazis would have the found the Ark and died without him. They were already outside when he took the medallion and was chased by the ball. Without him, they would've gotten it. This makes Sheldon’s jaw drop, which Amy closes for him. Explaining it to the friends, they think about it for a second, and in unison, all go... "Awwww!" as they realize she was right. The movie is absolutely ruined for them too. Later on Leonard points out that the Nazis dug in the wrong place while Indy did not. But then they realize they only dug in the wrong place because Indy had the medallion, and therefore without him they'd still have gotten it. In fact he didn't even have the Ark placed in a museum where he wanted it. It ended up lost in a government facility. Therefore Indy didn't even have any affect or accomplishment whatsoever throughout the whole film. Now, is this movie ruined for you too?
