Dunning-Kruger Effect: a cognitive bias in which stupid people are too stupid to know that what they unquestioningly repeat (often called by the misnomer, common sense) is so confidently believed, spread so far and wide, while the intelligent are smart enough to doubt what they believe and know to hold their tongue. The end result is that stupidity is chanted far and wide, while truth is rarely heard. Impressionable minds, therefore, are bombarded with common stupidity and are susceptible to a world of lies.
